The Princess is currently a university student and therefore does not carry out royal duties on a regular occurrence. Beatrice has completed significant work for HIV infected children in Russia and has supported a Teenage Cancer Trust. In 2010 the she also became the first member of the royal family to complete the London Marathon; she raised money for Children in Crisis.
Another popular with the name Beatrice but using a different spelling is Beatrix Potter. This individual was an English author, illustrator, natural scientist and conservationist. She was born 28th July 1866 and died on 22nd December 1953. The author created some of the best known children’s books, he work included The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Despite being written many years ago the book is still very popular today. The majority of her book were targeted at children and featured animals. Beatrix Potter is celebrated today as being one of the greatest children’s authors of all times.
